Last week, our Key Stage Two cohort had an exciting and fun-filled trip to the Washington Wetland Centre, where they spent the day exploring nature and learning in the great outdoors.
The children got stuck into a range of hands-on activities, from pond dipping – where they discovered all sorts of wriggly creatures living beneath the surface – to orienteering challenges that had them navigating their way around the wetlands like real explorers.
They also tried bird watching, using binoculars to spot some amazing species in their natural habitat. One of the highlights was learning about different life cycles, with fascinating facts about frogs, insects, and birds.
It was a brilliant day full of adventure, fresh air, and learning, and the children came back buzzing with excitement and new knowledge!
